Having gone back and forth trying to decide on a bike rack for the car, we finally ordered the Allen Trunk mounted bike rack. Walmart helpfully shipped it home for free, and it came all assembled - all for a nice low price of 37$ !
Now, to try it on, test it out and go biking in hitherto unreachable places!

ipod, cycling and phir hera pheri
Route: Home to Namaste plaza and back
Distance: 6.6 miles.
After a long time, I finally got around to doing what I have waited a while for. Bike while listening to music on my ipod. It was awesome!
'Twas a while in the works. Starting with my brother announcing that Bosch is giving away ipods to all its employees and Maya offering to take/bring me stuff home... Today evening seemed just right for biking. There was Phir Hera Pheri I had to return to Namaste plaza and I had arrived home slightly earlier than usual. So, I pumped the tires till they were taut, set the ipod to full volume and set off. It took about 12-15 minutes each way. Longer on the way up because of all the signals.
Listening to the ipod while biking was awesome ! It has sat in my car so far, connected to the tape deck. But it never sounded as good as while biking. I should be doing this more often.

Mera bike!

Have been thinking a lot of buying a bike for myself and riding to work every now and then.
The Katana seems perfect, does it not? It is supposed to be fairly cheap, easy to maintain/operate and looks very sleek. It is on my wishlist. You know what to gift me next birthday. :)
On a related front, seems hero cycles in India is planning to come out with a 8000 rupee bike, bare minimum, for city traffic. Hope it doesnot become the next mofa !
